Celebrating Our Founder: The Leadership and Legacy of Tim Arnold

At Free Agency, we believe that great businesses are built by great people – and there is no better example of this than our founder, Tim Arnold.

While many know Tim for his bold vision, entrepreneurial spirit, and tireless work building Free Agency into the trusted brand it is today, what’s often less visible – but equally inspiring – is the work Tim continues to do outside of Free Agency, especially in community leadership and grassroots impact.

A Leader On and Off the Course

Since February 2023, Tim has served as President of the Shepparton Golf Club, where he’s brought the same strategic focus, integrity, and energy that he brings to business. During his time as President, Tim oversaw a transformational period for the club – implementing strong governance structures, including a new Constitution, Strategic Plan, and Board structure to ensure long-term sustainability.

His efforts have been game-changing: from turning around the club’s financial outlook with a sharp approach to budgeting and forecasting, to spearheading infrastructure projects like the conversion of an old shed into a modern cart shed – a move that created a valuable new revenue stream and improved the member experience.

Community at the Core

What truly sets Tim apart is his commitment to people. Whether he’s leading major fundraising initiatives like The Big Draw and The Corporate Cup, rolling up his sleeves at working bees, or mentoring new members, Tim is always first to show up and last to leave. His focus on fostering culture, inclusion, and communication has helped transform the club’s internal dynamics and created a stronger sense of community for all involved.

That same commitment to connection has long been a cornerstone of Free Agency’s ethos. Under Tim’s leadership, our company has always aimed to empower individuals, unlock potential, and provide pathways for people to achieve more in their careers and businesses. It’s clear that this isn’t just a business philosophy – it’s who Tim is at his core.

A Lasting Legacy

Tim’s decision to step down from the Golf Club presidency a little earlier than planned was made so he could refocus on his family and business. And while he may be stepping back from that particular role, his legacy will continue – not only in the systems and structures he helped build but in the culture of integrity, generosity, and long-term thinking he leaves behind.
